Details
For Non-ITI Category
Should have passed Madhyamik (class X std or equivalent) as on closing date of the online application and possess minimum 50% marks as per criteria of the concerned Board (as per the original Marksheet) and with minimum 40% marks in both Mathematics and Science.
For ITI Category
Should have passed relevant trade test from any institute recognized by the NCVT or SCVT or any other authority specified through Gazette notification of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship/Ministry of Labour and Employment with duration as per the Trade Apprentices Act 1961 with possession of minimum 50% marks in the ITI examination. The relevant trade to be considered will be strictly on the basis of Schedule I of Apprentice Act 1961, amendments thereof, and the available vacancies in the Ordnance and Ordnance Equipment Factories.
In addition, candidate must have passed Madhyamik / Class X std or equivalent (Minimum 50% marks in Matriculate / Class X std).
Indian citizens aged 14 to 35 years (upper age as per latest amendment) who meet the educational eligibility can apply. Non-ITI candidates must have passed Class 10th, while Ex-ITI candidates must possess a relevant ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT).
What is the selection process for YIL Apprentices 2026?
Selection is merit-based. For Non-ITI, merit is prepared from Class 10th marks; for Ex-ITI, merit is based on average ITI marks. There is no written exam or interview. Shortlisted candidates undergo Document Verification and Medical Examination.
What is the stipend for YIL Trade Apprentices?
The monthly stipend is ₹8,200 for Non-ITI apprentices and ₹9,600 for Ex-ITI apprentices, as per Apprenticeship Rules and MoRD guidelines.
